SolarXbike is an pre-incubation start-up project supported by Lund Innovation. In the project, a team of four enthusiasts are building a charging station for electrical bicycles. Bikes are charged with green, solar energy and the station is made to provide protection against thefts for the bicycles charging but also other regular bicycles.
We are based at Stenkrossen in Lund. There we have placed our first test station with around 80 supporters of the project. The project was initiated in Climathon challenge 2017 organised by Climate KIC, where we won the 3rd prize giving a solution to challenge Lund Municipality to become a municipality with the highest use of solar power in Sweden. Climate-KIC is the EU’s largest public-private climate change partnership through innovation to build a “zero co2” economy.
